OUR COMMITMENT
Strong values, translated into concrete actions.
Care where it is needed most
Wheel of Care goes beyond traditional care provision. Our teams are also available during weekends and on public holidays. For instance, we take on the replacements of nurses and midwives at the Petit Château in Brussels. In this way, we ensure continuity, proximity, and humanity in care situations that are often complex, both humanly, socially, and psychologically.
Inspiring the care providers of tomorrow
Wheel of Care is actively contributing to the future of care in Belgium. We organise workshops and regularly teach and give guest lectures at universities and colleges in Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Leuven, and Louvain-la-Neuve. Through these interventions, we share our approach and raise awareness among future caregivers about a human, sustainable, and solidarity-based vision of care, with the aim of inspiring and motivating them for the professions of nurse and midwife.
The Robin Hood principle
Our operation is based on a solidarity model, inspired by the Robin Hood principle. Patients contribute financially according to their ability to pay: those who can afford the full rate do so; those who cannot are equally well supported. Thanks to this internal solidarity, our care remains accessible to everyone, without compromising on quality or dignity.

A social mission above all
At the heart of Wheel of Care lies a strong social mission: to guarantee access to care and perinatal and nursing support, even for the most vulnerable people. This is concretely translated into material support such as nappies, first aid supplies for babies and mothers, and clothing. In addition, we have an accessible space, specifically for women and families, where they can collect the necessary materials for free in a respectful and warm environment.
Inclusive care as a foundation
Wheel of Care consciously chooses an inclusive and diverse care practice. We stand alongside the LGBTQIA+ community and recognise the specific needs and experiences that may play a role in pregnancy, childbirth, recovery, and care in general. With us, there is space for all forms of parenthood, gender identities, and family structures.
As an organisation led by female entrepreneurs, we strongly believe in shared leadership, care as relational work, and breaking down traditional power structures in healthcare. Inclusion is not accessory for us, but a daily practice.
