HOLISTIC TEAM

LOUISE

I am Louise, coordinator of the amazing midwifery team at Wheel of Care and Sensiplan coach.

During my studies, I discovered the Fertility Awareness Method. A discovery that fundamentally changed my life as a woman. In a society that often disconnects us from our bodies and our natural rhythms, relearning to understand your cycle is an act of self-care, autonomy, and empowerment.

I thought that as a midwife I knew female physiology well, until I truly began to understand my own body. Through this method, I found a connection with myself again after a period of exhaustion and burnout. By listening to my body and its signals, I was able to grow and flourish once more.

Today I am a certified Sensiplan instructor and I guide women and couples in natural fertility awareness through the sympto-thermal method. Sensiplan helps you to understand your cycle, to experience your fertility consciously, and to make choices that fit your life. This can be in the context of wanting a child, but also with cycle complaints, contraception, or a desire for greater body awareness.

Consultations take place at Wheel of Care or online.

TERESA

I am Teresa, a midwife at Wheel of Care, and I combine my clinical experience with a deeply rooted holistic practice. Since 2012, I have been supporting women and families, a journey that began for me in Chile and has deepened over the years through various training and learning paths.

In addition to my work as a midwife, I am active as a doula, holistic guide in perinatology and early childhood, massage therapist, and ritual facilitator. Furthermore, I am training to become a sono-therapist, and soon I will also offer Zen Thai massage. This approach allows me to provide care that goes beyond just the medical, with attention to the body, emotions, energy, and meaning.

Within my holistic offering, I work with a broad and tailored palette of tools. I always start from listening, slowing down, and co-ordinating together, so that each support can be customised in respect for your pace and your needs, during pregnancy, in the postnatal period, and in early parenthood.

I feel grateful to be part of Wheel of Care, an environment where my values fully resonate: gentleness, creativity, movement, and care for people and the planet. With my Latin warmth and open presence, I enjoy creating a safe space where you feel supported and can be completely yourself.

You can come to me for:

  • Holistic guidance in perinatology and early childhood
  • Doula support
  • Deep relaxation massage and energetic recovery
  • Wrap cloth (REBOZO) massage and sound bath
  • Mama Blessing
  • Postnatal ritual
  • (Soon)Zen Thai massage

VANESSA

I am Vanessa, a doula in Brussels.

I am a daughter, a sister, a mother, a friend, a free woman, a creative multipassionate, a great optimist, and curious about life.

As a mother of two children, motherhood has been (and still is) a journey of initiation for me.

After more than 15 years as an architect and project manager in urban development projects, my "matrescence" (the physical, emotional, hormonal, and social transition to motherhood) led me on a personal and professional quest for meaning. It gave me the courage to focus on a life mission that is more in line with the vibration of my heart.

Through my own experiences with pregnancy, home births, and honouring the postpartum period, I became passionate about the world of perinatality. I felt the calling to train as a broad-spectrum Doula at the Quantik Doula school (founded by two Canadian midwives). Since 2022, I have embraced the beautiful colours of the profession DOULA under the name VANESCENCE.

The bicycle is for me a great source of freedom to move around Brussels daily, both with my family and for my work as a doula. It is therefore with great joy that I have the honour of offering my services within Wheel of Care. I am pleased with the complementarity of the skills of the whole team that is offered to Brussels families.

As a doula, I provide emotional, physical, and logistical support to women and co-parents during the small and large transitions of life, such as welcoming a baby, becoming parents, and creating a new family. I am a little fairy at their service to provide them with a listening ear, support, care, resources, and the sharing of information ... so that they can feel completely sovereign in their experience of motherhood.

LORE

I am Lore, a psychologist with strong expertise in perinatal psychological support. Since September 2025, I have been part of the Wheel of Care team with great gratitude, a place where care can slow down and where there is space for everything that arises.

Before I took the step towards midwifery, I worked for seven years as a psychologist in a rehabilitation hospital on the children's ward. There, I supported children and their families during often profound journeys. I had the opportunity to learn about working with vulnerability, loss, resilience, and recovery with great dedication and a warm heart.

Today, my focus within the Wheel of Care is on psychological support during the (peri)natal period. I support women, couples, and families at times when life suddenly takes a turn different from what was hoped, expected, or desired. This can involve grief, loss, trauma, or emotional confusion, but also the search for stability, meaning, and peace in an intense phase of life.

My approach is gentle, safe, and non-judgmental. There is space for what is, at your own pace. From my background as a midwife, I combine psychological support with a deep knowledge of the body, pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. This combination helps me to take not only words but also physical and emotional signals seriously.

The philosophy of Wheel of Care resonates strongly with who I am: people-oriented, holistic, and attentive to closeness. Brussels has been my home for seven years now, a city that I embrace with much love. Add to that cycling, culture, friends, and family, and you have described me quite well.

In addition to psychological support, I am also active as a midwife and I am happy to visit you at home in the first days after the birth of your little one.

You don't have to bear it alone. Together we will search for what can heal.

GLADYS

As a midwife at Child & Family and involved with Wheel of Care since its inception, I strongly believe in the power of a holistic approach to care. For me, Wheel of Care is the cradle of tomorrow's care: person-centred, slow where necessary, and supported by genuine attention to the person as a whole.

In addition to my work as a midwife, I delve into acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of the oldest medical traditions in the world. This medicine is based on the idea that body, mind, and energy are inextricably linked. It feels particularly valuable to me to be part of an organisation like Wheel of Care, which consciously does not limit itself to just conventional medicine, but allows space for complementary and integrative forms of care.

In my acupuncture sessions, I primarily focus on women. I provide support for a range of questions and complaints, such as menstrual issues, endometriosis, and fertility concerns, as well as support during and after pregnancy and in menopause. Additionally, I often treat complaints such as stress, burnout, depressive feelings, headaches, and digestive problems.

In addition to individual treatments, I also offer group acupuncture and conduct Qi Gong sessions. Qi Gong is a gentle yet powerful form of movement that helps to restore the balance of life energy (qi) and supports the body's self-healing ability. This combination of movement, breath, and awareness aligns beautifully with my vision of sustainable and preventive care.

CHARLOTTE

Hello, I am Charlotte and I am a yoga teacher.

After seven years of regular practice, I felt the call to deepen my understanding and consciously pass on my passion. I travelled to India to receive professional training in Hatha yoga: an ancient practice that harmonises body and mind through postures, conscious breathing, and meditation.

At Wheel of Care, I teach prenatal yoga classes on Monday evenings. Working here feels like a natural choice for me. I strongly identify with their values: a warm, inclusive, and human approach to care, respect for everyone's pace, and the importance of connection and community. It feels special to be part of an engaged and multidisciplinary team where yoga has a natural place within the broader, holistic care.

I have also truly fallen in love with the yoga studio: a beautiful, light, and calming space that invites you to slow down, find stillness, and come home to yourself.

In addition to my work as a yoga teacher, I am also in the process of setting up my own coffee shop, which will be called Hôma — a place where warmth, connection, and mindful enjoyment will be central. Just like in my yoga classes, I want to create a space there where people feel welcome and supported.

It is with great pleasure and gentleness that I would like to guide you on the mat!

EMILY

Hi, I’m Emily! Mum of two, yoga therapist, doula and coach. Originally from New York, now at home in Brussels. I support women in every stage of motherhood, with particular attention to the profound physical, emotional and mental changes that come with it.

Yoga came into my life in 2003 and became a real support during my own health challenges in my twenties. What began as a personal quest grew into a professional path where I bring together body, mind, and life experience. I undertook training in Hatha, Yin, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, and Womb Yoga, and became a certified yoga therapist in 2017. My way of working is gentle, trauma-sensitive, and always attuned to where someone is at that moment.

In 2022, I obtained my master's degree in Psychology, with a focus on the mind-body connection and motherhood. This vision is now at the core of my coaching and guidance around matrescence, the transition to motherhood. I support women with fertility, pregnancy, loss, postpartum, and everything that arises along the way, allowing space for vulnerability, resilience, and self-compassion.

I enjoy working at Wheel of Care because holistic thinking is central here. The care is human, inclusive, and innovative, and is based on trust in the body and the individual. In the Brussels healthcare landscape, this feels like a fresh and necessary movement with which I feel a strong connection.

Besides my work, you will often find me with a book or knitting in hand, or together with my partner, our two children, and our Ethiopian rescue dog Puddles.

SOFIE

I am a registered dietitian and I guide parents and children towards healthy, nutritious, and balanced eating, without diet myths or strict rules. My goal is to build a sustainable nutritional foundation together: for your child(ren), but also for the whole family, today and in the long term.

You can come to me with nutrition questions in any vulnerable phase of the family adventure. This ranges from nutrition during pregnancy and after childbirth, to starting solid foods, selective eating behaviour, and questions about how to raise children healthily in a world full of conflicting advice. I particularly want to help create calm, confidence, and enjoyment around food, especially during the perinatal period, which often comes with a lot of pressure and uncertainty.

I am also happy to support you and your family with more specific questions or situations. Think of medical issues, questions about plant-based nutrition, nutrition for children with autism, eating disorders, or your own dietary challenges as a parent. My approach is always without restrictions, focusing on the body, the emotional experience around food, gut flora, and potential nutritional deficiencies. Breaking taboos around food and introducing gentleness is central to this.

In addition to individual guidance, I also offer workshops, masterclasses, and webinars tailored to different life stages. This way, I share my knowledge in a group setting, in an accessible and connecting manner.

You are welcome for personal guidance at Wheel of Care or at your home. Those who would like to test the waters first can schedule a free digital introductory conversation. I find that low-threshold contact important.

In my free time, you will often find me with my son in the playground, in nature, enjoying meals with friends, or at the market at the Abattoir in Anderlecht, places where food, meeting, and life come together.

Would you like individual guidance? Then you can schedule a free introductory meeting here.

JOHANA

I am Johana, a sophrologist and musician, and I get around Brussels by bike.

Cycling all year round gives me energy, sharpens my senses and ensures a reliable arrival time, a way of moving that completely aligns with how I want to approach life and care.

I offer sophrology consultations at people's homes and within organisations such as hospitals, care homes, businesses, schools, and nurseries. Through a colleague, I discovered Wheel of Care, a place where I immediately felt at home. I strongly believe in multidisciplinary care, tailored to everyone's needs, rhythm, and living environment.

My path to sophrology has grown from various directions. With a background in international trade and a deep love for music, I discovered the power of sophrology during the natural birth of my first child. That experience touched me so deeply that I decided to delve further into it and share it with others.

With over 15 years of experience, I enjoy guiding people on their journey towards greater peace, breathing space, and well-being, with attention to the body, emotions, and inner balance.

In the future, I want to further expand my offerings with guided walks in full awareness (mindfulness walks) in nature, specifically in the Mamuli forest around Hallerbos. Slowing down while walking, breathing, feeling, and connecting with the surroundings can be a powerful way to reconnect with yourself.

ERIN

Hello, I am Erin. Womb Awakening facilitator in Brussel.

A few years ago, I discovered the power that lies within the womb. How the female cycle can provide direction and support in life. What began as a personal quest grew into a professional deepening in holistic women's well-being.

As a womb awakening facilitator, I guide women through various life stages. Both with specific complaints and in a preventive and supportive manner. My work starts from learning to understand the cycle, recognising recurring patterns, and enhancing body awareness.

I offer complementary guidance in

  • menstrual pain
  • fertility issues
  • perimenopause & menopause
  • miscarriage and pregnancy loss
  • the processing of sexual trauma
  • learning to sense and indicate boundaries
  • the rediscovery of sexual and life energy
  • learning to give oneself a gentle womb massage

My approach starts from the connection between body and mind. We work on cycle awareness, regulating the nervous system, enhancing vitality, and returning home to the body.

The guidance is provided through somatic exercises, practical tools, and body-oriented support, always tailored to your pace and needs.

I provide individual guidance and workshops in Brussels and am very grateful to be part of Wheel of Care, a place where medical and holistic care complement each other so beautifully.

PAULINE

Hello, I am Pauline.

After my studies in translation and full-time office work, I discovered how essential movement is for my well-being. For over ten years, yoga has been my anchor — a way to move, feel, and reconnect. In 2023, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, and now I share this practice with great joy with others.

In addition to yoga, my passion for the human body and conscious movement has led me to various dance styles and other ways to connect with ourselves and each other. For me, yoga is a place where you find peace and balance in a fast-paced world. At Wheel of Care, a true oasis of softness in Brussels, I teach Hatha yoga classes for all levels — whether it's your first time or you have been practising for years. In my classes, the focus is on breathing, conscious movement, and connection with yourself.

Some sessions are gentle and slow; others bring a bit more challenge to wake the body up, but always without pressure. I look forward to welcoming you on the mat.

IRINA PERSEPHONE

I am a mother of two, an artist, ritual holder, educator, and community builder. My work brings together artistic practice and care, with a focus on the autonomy of women during childbirth and embodied knowledge.

In Brussels, I facilitate a monthly women's circle and have developed a Birth Story Sharing Circle to support the integration of birth experiences.

Through a somatic and artistic approach, I create gentle spaces for embodied listening, reflection, and collective witnessing.

I see care as both a personal and a political act, and I strive to cultivate environments where women can reconnect with themselves, each other, and the living world.

I feel deeply connected to the Wheel of Care and am honoured to contribute to this community.
